Author Readings in Grimsby

Last night I went to Grimsby to hear Paul Cavanagh, a new author, and Wayne Johnston, a well-known Newfoundland author speaking about their books. I have been an admirer of Wayne Johnston since reading his Colony of Unrequited Dreams, soon after my first trip to Newfoundland. He is a great storyteller, with a droll, deadpan manner. I was lucky enough to win one of the draws at the end, and was able to choose my book prize. I chose Colony, and had it autographed by the author.
